Hello Children,
Today I'm going to talk to you about paragraph two in The Family: A Proclamation to the World and why it is so important.
"ALL HUMAN BEINGS—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose." The Family: A Proclamation to the World
God created male and female for a reason. In order to have a family both male and female are needed. We are all children of God and were the same gender you came to earth in, in the premoral existence.
"President
Packer explained: “The plan of happiness requires the righteous union of male and female, man
and woman, husband and wife. …A body patterned after the image of God was created for
Adam, and he was introduced into the Garden. At first, Adam was alone. …But alone, he could
not fulfill the purposes of his creation. No other man would do. Neither alone nor with other men
could Adam progress. Nor could Eve with another woman. It was so then. It is so today. Eve, an
help meet, was created. Marriage was instituted.”"
Man and women have different roles in life and both are needed to work with one another. In a marriage, both male and female, compliment each other. In our family, mommy and daddy both have certain jobs that we do. In other families, spouses may have different jobs. The way we do things in our home work best for us and our family. Daddy works very hard to provide for us, he is our sole provider. Mommy currently stays home to take care of family business, but I'm also going to school and have started substitute teaching. With all of you being in school now, things have changed for what works best with us. When you have your own husband or wife, you will learn what works best for you.
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalms 82:6).
Never forget how much I love you and want you to be happy.
Love,
Mommy

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Three
Hello Children,
Today I'm going to talk to you about paragraph three in The Family: A Proclamation to the World and why it is so important.
IN THE PREMORTAL REALM, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.- The Family: A Proclamation to the World
God's plan was in place far before we came to this earth. His plan included him dying for us, so that we could return to Him again one day. His plan was for us to obtain a body and come to earth to have a family and be sealed to them for eternity. While on earth I have, and I hope you will also, make sacred covenants with the Lord. Other than the covenants you make at baptism, the rest will be done in a holy temple.
Heavenly Father is already perfect. Our goal is to become like Him. In order for this to happen we need to work hard. Working hard includes making good choices by keeping the commandments, showing love to others, being an example, and sharing the gospel with others. Our time on earth is unknown, but as long as we are doing our best and praying to Heavenly Father for help, he will know your true intentions.
Always lead your friends and family members by example.
“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Titus 1:2).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Eight
Hello Children,
Please pay close attention to this paragraph. Know what you are responsible and accountable for.
"WE WARN that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets." The Family: A Proclamation to the World
Heavenly Father knows each of us. He knows what we are thinking and feeling. If you are having bad thoughts, how do you think He would feel? He isn't happy when we are not being kind. We need to constantly be showing love and kindness to those around us. It's not always easy, but trying is the first step. If we are taking care of our responsibilities we are making good choices that help bring us closer to Him. We each need to do our parts and be examples to others outside of the church. Satan is trying to hurt families and destroy them. We need to always be aware of this. We will each be held accountable before God based on the choices we each make.
Families can be together forever. We know this is true and know that following Him will allow us to be with our family for eternity.

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Nine
Hello Children,
I have loved sharing my thoughts with you. I love that I have the opportunity to be married to Daddy and that God has allowed us to have you as children. We love you so much and hope that our example is helping you in your lives.
"WE CALL UPON responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society." The Family: A Proclamation to the World
In order for families to survive in this world we need to be strong. We need to follow the law of the land and the gospel. Be an example to everyone around you. Showing the things you learn at church each week by example is one of the best types of missionaries you can be. Again, remember that Satan is always hard at work and trying his best to destroy our families. Share the gospel with those around you and don't be afraid to do so. Stay strong in the gospel, always attend church and your activities. Pray daily and do not forget to be thankful in all things.
President Gordon B. Hinckley said, “The strength of any nation lies in the strength of its families” (“Words of the Prophet: Love at Home,” Ensign, Oct. 1999). “In my judgment the greatest challenge facing this nation is the problem of the family, brought on by misguided parents and resulting in misguided children. The family is the primary unit of society. I believe it was designed by the Almighty. A nation will rise no higher than the strength of its families” (Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, July 2003 News of the Church).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Seven
Hello Children,
Only a few more paragraphs left and I hope you are learning a lot about family and marriage. I hope you have the desire to return to live with Heavenly Father and to be more like him. This is the seventh paragraph of the proclamation.
"THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed." The Family: A Proclamation to the World
We have learned that marriage is between a man and a woman is essential to God's plan. We each have important roles in family and the husband and wife have special responsibilities to help one another. We are all children of God and while times are changing, God's plan remains the same. So long as our lives are centered in the gospel w e are on the right path. Just like in the Primary song, "The Wiseman and the Foolish Man", building our home on a concrete and stable foundation is essential to help keep the commandments and have happiness in our lives. Always pray. Anything that comes up in your life that you have trouble with, you can pray for help. This also goes the other way. Showing gratitude is just as important. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, only one thanked Him. Can you imagine helping TEN people and only hearing thank you from ONE? The others ran off happy, but didn't share their gratitude with Jesus. Always be thankful and humble. Always be kind and forgiving. Show respect for everyone, tolerate their differences, show love and compassion to everyone. Your dad and I are here for you no matter what. We are here to help you become the responsible mother or father that you need to be to return to live with Him.

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Six
Hello Children,
I hope you have noticed a theme going on so far. Marriage and family is most important to our Heavenly Father. He wants us to make the right choices that help bring us closer to Him. He knows the temptations we will face, but He's here for us.
"HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations." - The Family: A Proclamation to the World
You are my greatest accomplishment. Daddy and I are so excited to have 3 beautiful children to be a part of our family. I feel that this paragraph is one of the easiest to understand. Daddy and I have a job to love and care for each other and the 3 of you. We have the sacred duty to teach you what is right, show you love, provide for you physically, spiritually, and I believe emotionally. These days it is so relevant to teach you service through the love of God, keep the commandments, and be law-abiding citizens. There are so many scary things going on in this world and I hope that we are teaching you the things you need to return to Him. I know that we are responsibly for your upbringing and we only want what is best for you.
“And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents” (Doctrine and Covenants 68:25).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Five
Hello Children,
I have loved being able to write these messages to you. It has helped me grow as a mom and I hope that it helps you grow as children of God.
WE DECLARE the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan." The Family: A Proclamation to the World
When deciding to become a parent the most important thing is to be married first. Starting a family before marriage is wrong. The order of things is also very important in God's plan of happiness. If Adam and Eve had never had children, where would we be today? There have been times when a woman becomes pregnant and decides that she does not want to be pregnant, she might abort the baby. This is a horrible act and is essentially murdering one of God's children. You'll have questions I'm sure, and once you are old enough I want to help you understand this. In the meantime, just know that if you are creating a family according to God's plan, you will only be moving yourself closer to Him.
“Pray in your families unto the Father, always in my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed” (3 Nephi 18:21).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph Four
Hello Children,
I hope you are enjoying what I am trying to teach you so far. I know that Jesus loves you and that we can return to live with Him and Heavenly Father again as long as we are keeping His commandments.
"THE FIRST COMMANDMENT that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife."
How lucky I feel to be able to be on this earth with Daddy and to have a family. I love that one of God's commandments is to multiply and replenish the earth. Isn't that amazing that I was put on this earth and Daddy and I have the 3 of you to raise an help return to Him. We are all children of God and he has trusted us with His children. Some days I might not be doing the best, but my goal is to keep you happy while teaching you the truth. My job isn't to just buy you things. Daddy and I have the job of keeping you healthy, clean, safe, and comforted. I love each day with all of you and I love that this is my most important job on earth.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the dearth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World - Paragraph One
Hello Children,
Mommy wants to share some very important information with you that I'm learning in my religion class. In 1995, The Family: A Proclamation to the World was shared with all members of the Church. This important message was given before it's time and is focused on the family and marriage. Each paragraph has a different message and I want to share them with you, along with my thoughts.
"
WE, THE FIRST PRESIDENCY and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children." - The Family: A Proclamation to the World
Why is the family such an important part of God's plan? God's has put a plan in place to lead us to eternal life. Through the plan of salvation, we are given a chance to return to be with God. As a part of Heavenly Father's plan, we are given a family. Our family will give us happiness and joy, but also teach us the Gospel and to live righteously. The Church is here to guide us and teach us the things we need to do in order to return to live with Him. Gender is also important and I will share more of that with you in the next post.
I love you each and want to guide you on a path of happiness and help you to live with your Heavenly Father once again.
“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Mark 10: 6–9).
